Sections 1 and 2

Note: This unit study meets CACREP standard/Counseling, Prevention and Intervention: C.1 – Knowledge.

Submit the following sections of your Case Assessment Project:

  • Client Description: Include your final version of your client description assignment. Be sure to incorporate any changes that were suggested to you by your instructor in Unit 3.
  • Section 1 – Counseling Theories (4–5 pages). Use two counseling theories and discuss how you would implement these theories with the student. Identify two goals for each theory, with one of the goals exclusively addressing wellness. Discuss the outcomes for each goal that you would hope to accomplish by implementing these theories with the student and justify (with supporting evidence) as to why the selected theoretical approach is effective in meeting these goals.
  • Section 2 – Special Needs (2–3 pages). Discuss how you will handle the special needs your student has brought to the session. Identify the special need (such as learning disability, physical disability, or other exceptionality). Clearly discuss your strategy for working with the identified special need (or needs) to include the following:
    • How you will introduce this in a session.
    • How you will set goals (including homework assignments) for you and your student.
    • How you will follow up on the student’s homework assignments.
    • Special counseling considerations that need to be made for your student in response to his/her special need(s).

Your assignment paper must include a title page, body of the assignment with the client description and the required sections, and a reference list. Appendices are optional.

Support your sections with references. Each section should use 2 to 3 references for a total of at least 15 references for all sections combined.
