Class discussion on Chapter 6 (Strategy Analysis) in BABOK.

  • As a class, discuss ‘The Matrix”.
  • Have a number of people provide their observations on the AS-IS and TO-Be state.
  • Have another set of students provide their observations on the gap and the risks to get them from the AS-IS to TO-BE state.
  • As a class, select the best AS-IS, TO-BE, risk and gap explanation for the movie.

  • In your groups, do a strategic analysis of your team IT project. Build an infographic or video that explains each task of the Strategic Analysis Knowledge areas:
  • Current State (AS-IS)
  • Future State (TO-BE)
  • Provide insight into what could happen in the future regarding what you are working on for this project.
  • Risks
  • Gap between the AS-IS and TO-BE state
  • As a team, brainstorm the gap and select the top 3 gaps and options that need to be executed to get to the future state.

  • Be prepared to talk about the strategic analysis research you did on your company during your task word before you cam to class. Have your list of links available to share with the class.

  • Submit the documentation on your strategic analysis for the following:
  • Current State (AS-IS)
  • Future State (TO-BE)
